Are you familiar with the term hyperfocus? Are there activities that you get lost in?
There are very few activities that I hyperfocus on and lose myself in. But those few activities suck me in good. What activities do you lose yourself in?

One of my favourite activities that I get lost in is gardening, in case you didn’t guess. I can start gardening at lunch time and still be at it at dusk. The only thing that breaks my hyperfocus is the mosquitos biting and making me itch.
Even when it looks like all the gardening is done, there is still more to enjoy. I can always play with the worm farm or compost bin. Then of course there are always succulents that can be propagated.

Reading Is a GREAT Hyperfocus
Occasionally I can get so lost in a good book that I lose all respect for tomorrow. I read way past midnight and then swear when my alarm goes off in the morning.
My latest obsession I lose all track of time in is video editing. I’ve just started to learn CapCut video editing software and it’s addictive. You can click this link for a free trial. That said, I’m very proud of myself lately for managing my inner perfectionist. I’ve been taking the “done is better than perfect” approach. Otherwise I wouldn’t have any videos shared yet. In my opinion my skills are improving with every creation. So this new hobby is keeping me sufficiently challenged and entertained at the moment.
What activities do you lose yourself in? Can you control your hyperfocus? Or do you only realize how long you’ve been doing something if you start in daylight and finish at dusk?
