Restaurant Review Four In Hand

Main course at restaurant Four in Hand

On Thursday night Mark and I were lucky enough to be taken out to dinner to celebrate our recent engagement. We dined at restaurant Four in Hand in Paddington and thoroughly enjoyed everything the restaurant had to offer. It is located in the same building as the pub, yet the restaurant is clearly separate and has lovely decor.

The head chef is Irish and the meals we had were perfect winter warmers. My special pigs tail was so succulent and sweet that the flavour very presently surprised me, and naturally I had to share it to surprise everyone else.

My main course of Roast Spanish Mackerel with Eel and Saffron Gnocchi was absolutely delicious. It went well with the bottle of red wine that our waiter brilliantly suggested to go with four different mains that ranged from smokey fish to red meat. Our whole party thought the wine was a great match for our main courses.

We followed with coffee and dessert which like every other course was served with a friendly smile. Next time I will be indulging in a cheese platter because walking past those amazing smelling cheese blocks was a very hard thing to do. As our waiter said, cheese has a whole separate stomach, and I intend to satisfy that stomach too.
