Dinner tonight was so simple, quick and delicious. Mark cooked up some amazing tuna steaks and served them with a mango and mung bean salad that was full of spring onions and herbs from the garden. I say cooked, but as the photo shows they were lightly seared and still very pink in the middle.
Sadly the red chillies that you can see were store bought since the chickend demolished our established chilli plants the last time they broke in to the veggie patch. They must have needed the many medicinal properties that chilli provides.
This is one dinner that everyone should put in their repertoire and demolish two terrible myths about fish. Firstly it is not hard to cook fish, and secondly it is not expensive. If you compare the price per kilo of fish to a good quality beef steak you’ll see what I mean.
This is the first time we have enjoyed this delicious dinner, but it certainly won’t be the last. It’s one to add to the rotation. Obviously we are too adventurous to have a weekly rotation, but this is made to be a regular summer meal in our house.
