Naturally Mark and I spent hours choosing our wedding menu. Then we spent more hours adding a unique touch by putting our wax seal on individual menus that we designed and printed at home.
Here is a taster of our professional wedding photos by Caroline McCredie. There will be more to come later, you will just have to watch this space.
Many of our weddings guests have told us that they thoroughly enjoyed the food (which is great to hear), and whilst looking through our photos I realised that I haven’t shared the menu with my foodie friend who wasn’t able to make it as she is living in Hong Kong and her terrible work wouldn’t give her leave-don’t tell them I said that 😛
We started off with a delicious Seafood Tasting Plate and anyone would be forgiven for thinking that the Best Woman and Best Man were scheming together when they were feeding Mark and I their oysters. Truth is, neither of our siblings like them, and we love oysters so we were set. Don’t worry, our sister and brother didn’t starve, they enjoyed the fish and prawns. Of course the mains and cheese plate for first dessert were delicious, but what stays in everyones mind is the sweet dessert.
The macaroons from La Renaissance were A-MAZ-ING! Just thinking about them makes my mouth water. One tip when you’re ordering such a dessert for a wedding, don’t assume people are full after an entree, main and cheese plate, and will probably only eat two macaroons. We learnt the hard way that if there are four flavours, your guests will grab one of each. I’m still apologising to family and friends that missed out on trying all the flavours as we allowed three macaroons a head. Still, it is a good excuse for Mark and I to go back there and grab some treats for the special people in our lives, ourselves included.
